Terms and Conditions

Residential cleaning services: 

Residential cleaning services are $75/hour for a team of two student cleaners. This includes all supplies and our customizable residential checklist. The total price depends on the size of your home and how detailed your checklist is. We require a one-hour minimum. The cost is pro-rated after the one-hour minimum. A flat-rate fee that covers our team’s drive time is included in your total. This flat rate is determined by your location in the city and is typically $10 to $30. This fee is non-refundable. 

Move-out & Move-in cleaning services:

Move-out & Move-in cleaning services are $90/hour for a team of two student cleaners. This includes all supplies and our customizable move-out checklist. The total price depends on the size of your home, how detailed your checklist is, and the condition of the home. We require a one-hour minimum. The cost is pro-rated after the one-hour minimum. A flat-rate fee that covers our team’s drive time is included in your total. This flat rate is determined by your location in the city and is typically $10 to $30. This fee is non-refundable. For all move-out and move-in services you are required to digitally sign a Cleaning Services Agreement before the booking will be considered complete. 

Commercial cleaning services:

Commercial cleaning services are priced on an individual basis. Since every commercial space has unique needs we perform in-person estimates for commercial cleaning services. Please contact our office at (352) 672-0038 to schedule an estimate.

Pet-Sitting & Concierge services:

Pet-Sitting & Concierge services are provided at a rate of $35/hour for a team of 1 person. These services can be customized to your needs. For pet sitting services all items related to the pets must be provided by the client, including food, bowls, any feeding or specific instructions, appropriate place to discard waste, litter & scooper for cats. Our team members are unable to administer medication to your pets. Unfortunately we do not offer overnight stays.

Payment Policy:

Student Maid, Inc Terms and Conditions is provided as a guide of what is expected of our clients. Payment for cleaning services is due in full within 24 hours of service unless other arrangements have been made. We accept payment by gift card(see section below).cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. To pay by check, simply leave the check in an obvious place in your home, like a kitchen counter, or give it directly to the team.  Please make checks out to Student Maid. Should a check be returned, a $ 35.00 Returned Check Fee will be added to your account. Student Maid does not accept post dated checks. For your security, our teams do not process credit/debit cards on site; all credit/debit card payments are handled through our office. We currently utilize Stripe.com to secure and process your credit card information.

If we arrive to clean and there is no payment, we will attempt to process the credit card on file. If we are unable to process your credit card, we will attempt to contact you. In the event we are unable to reach you in a timely manner all services will be suspended for that account until past due balance is paid in full.

Gift Card policy:

Gift cards can be purchased on our website here: https://studentmaid.com/gift-cards/

To redeem the gift card, the recipient will need to provide us with the email address used to purchase it. When you give the gift card, please make sure that the recipient is aware of this and that they have the correct email address. Gift cards are valid for 1 year from date of purchase. Refunds are not available for gift card purchases.

Invoices:

In the event a payment arrangement was made and an invoice was sent, Student Maid may charge a late fee for any amounts which are not paid when due.All invoices not paid in full within 15 days of invoice date will be assessed monthly finance charges of 1.5% each month on the unpaid balance or a minimum fee of $5.00. Customers shall also be responsible for all costs of collection (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) to collect overdue amounts.

Cancellation Policy:

As a general cleaning client, a part of what you pay for is a consistent spot on our schedule. Having a consistent spot ensures that you receive a discounted rate. Any gaps in regular service MAY increase your rate if additional time is needed in order to bring your home back to maintenance level. A cancellation fee will also apply if you do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance.

If you cancel or reschedule your Residential cleaning appointment less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time, you will be charged for 1 hour of service($75). If you cancel or reschedule your Move-out or Move-in cleaning appointment less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time, you will be charged for one hour of service($90).  If you give us more than 24 hours’ notice, you will not be charged.

Additional reasons that would result in a cancellation fee include, but are not limited to: no running water and/or electricity, environment is unsafe or contains potential health hazards (i.e. excessive mold, pest/bug infestation), or the team is unable to access the property (doors are locked and no key is provided, no available parking, etc.) and they are unable to reach you.

Refund & Touch-Up Policy:

Should you have any concerns regarding your service, you have 24 hours to reach out and discuss them. We want to ensure you are 100% satisfied with our services and are more than happy to come out and touch-up or re-clean areas that were missed or unsatisfactorily cleaned. Unfortunately concerns rendered after the 24 hour window of the appointment we are unable to provide refunds. 

Parking Policy:

There must be a legal parking space and/or pass available for our team. If necessary, please coordinate with property management, homeowners’ association, etc., to obtain a parking pass for our team ahead of time. Our team members will not park in tow-away zones. If you direct our team members to park in a restricted zone and they are consequently towed and/or ticketed, you will be responsible for all fees incurred.

Tipping:

Tipping is completely optional but highly encouraged for a job well done. Our team members greatly appreciate the extra recognition! Gratuity can be given to the team in cash, added to your check, or the credit card on file. 

Service Limitations:

a). We do not climb higher than a 2-step ladder

b). We cannot move furniture over 15 lbs but will try to reach a visible place with an extension duster

c). If an area in the home is considered or has the potential to be considered a bio-hazard, that area will not be cleaned (emptying/cleaning cat litter boxes, human/animal excrement, etc).

It is to the clients advantage to have the home picked up as much as possible allowing us to be able to get to all areas so that we can optimize your cleaning. At Student Maid, we provide light straightening of the areas that we clean. If such areas/surfaces are cluttered at the time of cleaning, your team will clean around those areas and you will be notified.

Cleaning Products:

We provide our own cleaning products, tools, and vacuums. If you would prefer the team use your own products and equipment, please leave them out with instructions for proper use. We suggest that you do this especially if you would like us to use certain products for granite, stainless steel, wood furniture, or wood floors. Entry to Homes:

Student Maid has three different options to choose from so that your cleaners have entry into homes.

1). Client may opt to not give a key to the company and be home on their day of cleaning. Because we cannot give an exact time, the client must be home during their specific time frame to let the cleaners in/out of the home. If no one is home when the cleaners arrive, a cancellation fee will be charged. (See fee above)

2). Client may provide the company with a key. In the event of termination of the cleaning agreement, keys will be returned to the client within 48 hours of the final cleaning. For your protection, keys will not be linked to any information pertaining to the client. Keys are kept in a secure key management system with key tracking and are crossed referenced in case of loss.

3). If a client chooses to leave their door unlocked, place the key under the mat, or leave their house key in an unsecured place for the cleaners to gain entry, the client releases Student Maid from all liability that arises from damage made before or after the cleaners leave the premises. The client understands that they will be responsible for any damages that are caused before/after their scheduled cleaning team.

It is not necessary for the client to disarm their alarm system for their scheduled date of cleaning. If you would like, you may contact your alarm company and have a house cleaner code issued

Price Increases:

Student Maid reserves the right to adjust client rates at any time. You will be notified 30 days prior to any price increases.

Employee Solicitation:

When entering into an agreement for services with Student Maid, you agree not to solicit for hire any staff member introduced to you by Student Maid for any home-related services. If you are found to have solicited one of our staff members, please be advised that our referral/ training fee is $2,500 payable to Student Maid immediately upon employing our staff for any services to your home/ business. Your maid (s) will also be immediately terminated.

Digital Media:

Occasionally we like to take before and after pictures of your home. Interior pictures will be for our reference only and will not be publicized without your consent. Interior images will be focused on the room and or damage we may find and will not be focused on personal property unless it is your personal property that was damaged and is required by our insurance to process a claim. If we wish to use pictures of the interior of your home, we will contact you directly before doing so. Exterior pictures of your home we would like to use for possible advertisement on such places like our website, Facebook, and so forth. If we decide to use any exterior images of your home, we may contact you as a courtesy but it is not required. At no point will any image include images of any person living in the home. We do respect your right to privacy.
